A conversation with LOVE feels open hearted

Yesterday’s Solar Eclipse energy was occurring in the northing hemisphere, and I was HERE in the southern hemisphere experiencing the New Moon energy. Both events invite us IN to look at our shadow, but a Solar Eclipse creates fast change, and a Dark Moon feels like a slower reset.

It’s no coincidence that we are noticing the habits we want to change, so we can plant the seeds for new growth – because here in the southern hemisphere nature is shifting us into the season of Spring. 🌱

My conversations with the Moon are intimate, and that’s why intimate relationship felt significant yesterday, but that is NOT where I want my attention to flow – because as always, I had many other conversations about living a life that feels good for me, with or without a significant other.

Yesterday I wrote – I AM HERE because NOW is the only time that matters.

Today I ask myself …

  • How am I telling my SELF to BE?
  • What am I telling my SELF to DO?
  • Where am I telling my SELF to GO?

I don’t want to go anywhere other than where I am, but I am moving forwards. I’m building a life of doing what I enjoy, and I always want to BE my true self – honest and authentic, but that isn’t always on the positive side of the sliding scale, and that’s how shadow is created in our psyche – IF we don’t accept the (-) aspects of ourselves, each other, and life.

So, I’m going to share a little story about how I dance with my own shadow …

This morning, I realized I had missed an event I wanted to attend yesterday, because I was lost in my own reflection, and it made me feel selfish for being so self absorbed. As soon as I realized, I reached out to the woman I didn’t show up for, apologized for forgetting, acknowledged how my attention was elsewhere, and expressed how sorry I was for missing the opportunity to support and share the experience with her.

This beautiful woman, began her message with …

“You were exactly where you needed to be yesterday, my friend.”

Although I agree, it didn’t make me feel any better about letting her down, and being the intuitive woman she is, that’s why she ended the message with …

“NO guilt allowed … fuck it right off.”

Those words made me smile – because it reflected the LOVE this woman not only felt for others, but the depth of love she must feel for herself, and I acknowledge the change for me – because uilt doesn’t have the same hold on me as it once did.

It’s NOT normal to respond with guilty feelings when we’ve failed to show up for someone we care about, it’s something we learn from the experiences we’ve struggled with.

How do YOU react when you feel guilty?

  • Do you experience remorse?
  • Do you have a strong urge to fix the mistake?
  • Do you over apologize to make amends?
  • Do you lash out or pull back?
  • Do you give too much to feel better about yourself?
  • Do you become over sensitive and defensive?
  • Do you withdraw and hide from the person you’ve hurt?
  • Do you avoid the conversation completely?

I’m guilty of doing ALL of those things at different times, for different reasons, with different people, so I’ve danced with guilt many times. I’ve learned how quickly guilt shifts into shame, and those stories are harmful for our self worth.

GUILT says – you made a bad choice, and it makes us feel wrong

SHAME says – you are a bad person

The LESSON is to learn and grow from those experiences

LOVE sees us for who we really are, and not what we did (or) didn’t do

I am blessed with the friendship of so many women that keep reflecting LOVE back to me, and for that I am extremely grateful – because it’s why I feel seen, heard, supported, and held in a safe emotional space.

It’s the reason why my nervous system is no longer in fight, flight or freeze response, and now feels calmer. It’s why I feel connected, balanced, and aligned even though it feels like my hormones are on crack sometimes (menopause)

When we no longer need to defend or protect ourselves, we can focus on fixing the hurt we caused ourselves and others – because our healing doesn’t just improve the relationship we have with ourselves, it changes how we relate with each other, and that’s why our healing matters.

My intimate conversations with the Moon …

… is an open and honest conversation with LOVE ❤️
